    Biography

I integrate geology with rock and fluid mechanics to study a variety of physio-chemical processes spanning from pore-scale to basin-wide geosystems, with emphasis on improving mechanistic description of the coupled flow and transport phenomenon in heterogenous porous media. Once we understand how geology modify the flow and transport phenomenon, we can investigate how do these rock-fluid systems evolve and transform under natural and anthropogenic forcings, for example, storage of human wastes and climate change.

I enjoy teaching courses with emphasis on the role of physical phenomenon in a variety of natural geosystems. These courses include Hydrogeology, Contaminant Hydrology, Water and the environment, and Computational modeling

    Research interests include:

    • Computation fluid dynamics and digital rock physics
    • Flow and reactive transport processes of porous media
    • Multiscale-Multiphysics: Upscaling
    • Imaging and experimental fluid mechanics
    • Wettability and multiphase flow
    • Surface water - Groundwater Hydrodynamics
