Rui Liu
Biography
Dr. Rui Liu's work bridges architecture and engineering through "archi-teering" approaches that enhance the resilience, sustainability, and "intelligence" of the built environment. His research employs artificial intelligence and emerging technologies to advance innovative structural design, advanced construction materials, novel construction methods, and intelligent infrastructure management.
An active member of the International Association for Shell and Spatial Structures (IASS) and a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Dr. Liu contributes to the advancement of the profession through leadership, research, and service. He serves as an Associate Editor of the ASCE Journal of Performance of Constructed Facilities and has co-edited four ASCE published books. His work has been supported by numerous public and private funding agencies, and recognized by both IASS and ASCE for his contributions to design innovation, research excellence, and professional leadership.
