Kent State University provides our international students with access to specialized software and support for filing their annual tax forms. This year, we are providing access to TAX PREP Sprintax, a leader in non-resident tax filing services.

Federal law requires most international students to file an income tax return each year, whether they worked or not. Tax returns for 2023 are due April 15, 2024. The 2023 International Student Tax Packet will assist you through this process. This document will provide a brief overview of two filing statuses and the resources available to you to file your taxes.

Because ISSS, the payroll office, and the tax office are not tax advisors, they can only refer you to the 2023 International Student Tax Packet. If you need assistance using the TAX PREP Sprintax software or have questions on your tax filing, please contact their help services.
