Minor in Computer Science

A basic knowledge of computer science can be invaluable to students in a wide range of disciplines, from the sciences to the humanities to business.  The Minor in Computer Science requires a total of 20 credit hours within the major in addition to those required by the University and College. They include 3 required introductory level courses (11 credit hours), and then 3 electives courses are chosen in consultation with the student’s minor advisor. These 3 courses  must be chosen from upper division Computer Science courses. Prerequisites for all CS courses must be fulfilled. Note that students must earn a grade C or better in CS 13001. A  grade C or better is required in CS 23001 for many  upper-division courses. A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 is required in the minor.
