Kent State University at Trumbull English instructors Ana Wetzl, Ph.D., and James Canacci, have announced the winners of the inaugural Excite to Write program, an essay writing contest geared toward area high school juniors, seniors, and honor students.
A pair of Kent State University at Trumbull students, Alexandra Dowell and Valerie Helco, were among a group of 10 students who were awarded scholarships monies from the Trumbull Memorial Health Foundation.
Recipients were chosen based on academics, as well as need, but all are pursuing careers in health care.

Eligible students must be enrolled for the 2014 fall semester as a full-time or part-time undergraduate student at Kent State Trumbull, and be in good academic standing. Additionally, applicants must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the U.S., and submit a one-page statement regarding community service, its importance, and the applicant’s role within their local community.
The Kent Trumbull Theatre & Summer Stock 37 has announced dates this summer's youth acting classes.
Occurring each Monday evening over eight weeks during June and July, the classes are available for students ages 7-13, and available in both a beginning acting class (improvisation, basic acting technique and theatre games) and musical theatre class (singing, choreography and acting).
The enrollment fee for each class is $50, or students may attend both concentrations for $70. Class size will be limited to 20 students per class.
