That "something" isn't just a degree. It's a sense of place in a School and a community of people who are passionate about communication. The School of Communication Studies offers a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts degree. The interdisciplinary doctoral degree program is offered through the College of Communication and Information.

Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies

Students pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies can choose from six major concentrations:

Applied Communication
Global Communication
Health Communication
Interpersonal Communication
Organizational Communication
Public Communication

Communication Studies Minors

Students of any major can choose communication minors in the following concentrations: Global Communication, Health Communication, Interpersonal Communication, Organizational Communication, and Public Communication.

Master of Arts in Communication Studies

Students in the M.A. program typically pursue one or more of the following four areas of study. Alternatively, students may also craft a program of study that bridges traditional boundaries between the concentrations:

Global Communication
Health Communication
Interpersonal Communication
Mediated & Mass Communication

Doctor of Philosophy in Communication & Information

The interdisciplinary Ph.D. program in the College of Communication and Information is designed to prepare students for a lifetime of research and teaching as a college professor or for a career as a highly-trained communication or information specialist in an applied setting. The degree requires both comprehensive theoretical knowledge and methodological skills appropriate to a range of careers involving the generation, processing, and retrieval of information.
