Salem, Ohio – The Kent State University at Salem Communiversity Choir is recruiting vocalists as it prepares to perform this spring with the Kent State choir and orchestra.
Male and female singers with choral experience are needed and there are no auditions. The Communiversity Choir of Salem meets each Tuesday, 7-9 p.m. in the City Center, beginning Jan. 19.
This year, the local choir is joining the Kent State University orchestra and chorus to present the German Requiem, by Johannes Brahms, on Sunday, May 8, at 7:30 p.m. in Cartwright Hall on the Kent Campus.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to sing Brahms German Reguiem and I am excited to join with the Kent State chorus for this exciting and challenging opportunity,” noted Melissa Fucci, director of the Communiversity Choir and assistant professor of music at Kent Salem. “It is going to be a beautiful and moving performance. I encourage anyone who loves to sing to join us for this rare musical opportunity.”
