Where is the Homecoming Parade?

The parade will take off from the intersection of Johnston Drive and Summit Street by the Kent State University Student Recreation and Wellness Center, and will travel along campus on Summit Street past the University Library and Kent Student Center. This is a slight change from last year’s route. More information will be sent out about these changes soon!

Is there an entry fee?

There is no cost for participating, but entries must be registered by Friday, Sept. 11 before the Saturday, Oct. 3 parade.

When are registration forms due?

Registration forms are due online by Friday, Sept. 11 before the Saturday, Oct. 3 parade. Kent State student organizations, university departments, community organizations and schools, local politicians, etc. may use this form to register.

Will we have an assigned spot in the lineup? When will we know our assignment? Can we choose our spot?

Each entry will have an assigned spot. These assignments will be emailed to the contact person by Wednesday, Sept. 30 at the earliest before the Saturday, Oct. 3 parade. Spots are assigned on a first-come, first serve basis as well as based on the type of entry. You are not able to choose your spot in the parade lineup.

Where should we park?

If you will be returning to campus, you may park at a variety of campus lots. Parking near the Kent Student Center is recommended as this is where the parade grandstand and community block party is located. How long is the parade?

The parade will take approximately 1-1 ½ hours from step off to conclusion. The parade route is approximately 0.60 miles long.
