Debra Clark

Debra Clark received a Ph.D. from Kent State in May 2003. She got an M.A. in 1986 from Bowling Green State University, and a B.A. from Mount Union College in 1984. She worked for seven years in Kent State’s Division of Student Affairs. She was also director of Residence Life at Cleveland State University, where she began her doctoral studies in Urban Education. After leaving Cleveland State University Debra transferred to Kent State University to pursue a degree in Cultural Foundations. Dear Kent State University Community, Like you, I have been shocked and outraged by the scenes of violence, death and destruction in Israel and the Gaza Strip following the terrorism and warfare that began this past Saturday. Scenes of adults, children and the elderly being kidnapped, bombed, held hostage and dug out of rubble remind us of the toll of historic hatreds, suspicions and rage fueled by exactly these kinds of terrible occurrences. Alumni Spotlight: Don Pearson '16

Don Pearson’s extensive career in medical librarianship first began when he graduated with two bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science and Russian Language and Literature. In his role as webmaster and technology specialist at Mount Carmel Health Sciences Library, Pearson decided he wanted to pursue additional education in the health sciences.

Kent State University kicked off its highly anticipated Mental Health Campaign on Tuesday, Oct. 10, with the message to Reduce the Stigma, Seek Help and Refer a Flash.  The two-hour kickoff event, held in the Kent Student Center Ballroom, was well attended by the university community. Ashtabula Campus Trunk or Treat

The Kent State University at Ashtabula Student Nurses Association (SNA) will host a community-wide Trunk-or-Treat on campus on Thursday, Oct. 26, from 5-7 p.m. in the Robert S. Morrison Hall west parking lot. The event is open to everyone in the Ashtabula community and children are welcome to dress up for this trick-or-treat “trial run”. Greater Cleveland Alumni Chapter Halloween Cemetery Tour

Join us Saturday, Oct. 28, at Noon for a Halloween cemetery tour! You'll walk through the Lake View Cemetery and visit its most famous graves sites, including Wade Chapel and more! Enjoy an afternoon experiencing the breathtaking views and learning Cleveland's great history. The event will cover approximately 1-1.5 miles of walking over the course of 90 to 120 minutes. Plus, proceeds from the event support the Greater Cleveland Alumni Chapter Scholarship.
