Internship sites may change from semester to semester, depending on the site’s needs and the potential intern’s interests and skill sets. Below is a list of some previous and current internship sites:
Kent Campus On-Site:
Experience has shown that those interns who generate ideas, show initiative, and seek additional responsibilities will profit more from their internships than students who wait to be told what to do. While a great deal of your work will eventually be substantive writing and editing, you may be asked to perform assignments you regard as routine or boring, especially at first. It is best to cheerfully accept these assignments. Evidence of an intern’s ability to handle routine tasks quickly and accurately is often necessary before the intern is given more assignments.
The Associate of Technical Study degree, Individualized Program, is open to students who need a specially designed course of study in a technical field.
The degree allows students who want a broad education with access to a variety subjects, which creates an opportunity to personalize their experience.
This degree serves students who want a broad education by sampling a variety of different subject areas, who are planning to complete a bachelor's degree program, or who want to advance their careers by holding a degree.
On September 28th, 2023, MCLS Instructors Hui Yu and Eriko Tanaka hosted an unforgettable Chinese & Japanese Culture Night. The night was a delightful experience with food, games, and activities representative of both cultures. The event hosted over 100 students making sushi and mooncakes. Activities consisted of Mahjong, sugar painting, and calligraphy. This remarkable evening was a celebration of cultural exchange and collaboration, leaving everyone eagerly anticipating the next event.

The Writing Internship Program (WIP) Three (3) credit-hour course satisfies the requirement for an upper-level writing intensive course. All majors who have taken at least one of the following prerequisite courses, or advisor recommendation, or a 3.0 GPA in their major/s may apply:
October is Kent State University’s Mental Health Awareness Month. Though the national health observance is in May, the university chooses October to promote mental health awareness as the need for mental health support on campus peaks during this time. The goal behind making October Kent State’s Mental Health Awareness Month is to increase awareness about the mental health support that Kent State provides to both students and faculty. This support includes counseling services, workshops as well as programs to encourage general well-being, like Meditation Across Campus ...
