Kent State University student Maya McDaniel began her collegiate journey at age 14. Now a 17-year-old senior, she is set to graduate with a degree in game design and a minor in computer science and also set to become one of the youngest students to receive a bachelor’s degree from the university. Kent State University College of Nursing student Ashlee Frymier has been selected as Big Sister of the Year by Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Summit, Medina and Stark Counties. The award is particularly exceptional because Frymier has only volunteered with the organization for a year. After Kent State alumna Morgan Dawson, BS ‘20, started her career in the construction field, she realized that women in the industry did not have the appropriate clothing for the job. If Dawson wore jeans, they were too tight. If she wore boy's construction pants, they didn’t fit her body. Something had to be done. Dawson took it upon herself to create Dawson Workwear, a line of pants made specifically for women in construction.
