    Biography

Dr. Jiahui Wang is an Associate Professor of Educational Technology at Kent State University. She earned her M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Virginia and her Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction with a concentration in Educational Technology from the University of Florida.

Her research investigates how individual learner differences shape the way students engage with STEM content in technology-rich environments, with a growing emphasis on the role of artificial intelligence in education. She examines the underlying cognitive and attentional processes that occur while students interact with educational technologies, using advanced process measures such as visual attention, neural oscillations, and digital trace data (e.g., mouse clicks). By analyzing these multimodal learning signals, Dr. Wang’s work provides insights into how AI-driven tools can adapt to learners’ needs and personalize instruction.

Her research spans diverse learning contexts - including K–12 classrooms, online and blended environments, and digital game-based learning - with the goal of informing the design of AI-powered learning environments that foster deeper engagement and more effective learning outcomes.
