Tau Sigma

What is Tau Sigma?

Tau Sigma is a National Honor Society and a registered Student Organization at Kent State University which aims to recognize transfer students and their academic achievements. Not only does this include transfer students here at Kent Campus, but also includes those who attend classes at KSU's regional campuses. This website's purpose is to help inform current and prospective members of Tau Sigma of organizational events, as well as serve as a resource for relevant information and contacts.

Visit Tau Sigma's National website for more information about the organization.

Tau Sigma Members

Tau Sigma Members To become a member of Tau Sigma, a student must be a transfer student transferring into Kent State with at least one year's academic credits from the previous institution. These students must earn a 3.50 GPA based on their first 12 credit hours earned at KSU. The 12 required credit hours can be earned over the course of multiple semesters in order to allow part-time students the opportunity to join.

Attention all Graduating Tau Sigma Members

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation! Show your pride as a Tau Sigma member by wearing our organization’s burgundy and gold honor cord and/or  Tau Sigma Graduation Stole during the ceremony. Be sure to tag @kentstatessp on Instagram or Kent State University Student Success Programs on Facebook.

If you do not have an honor cord or graduation stole, you can purchase one, as well as other items, directly from the National Tau Sigma Honor Society website.
