The CCI Diversity Team (the Team) serves as an advisory board for the CCI Diversity Director. The Team is comprised of dedicated faculty, staff and students from all schools within the College of Communication and Information who have volunteered to assist in the development and implementation of diversity and inclusion initiatives in our college.

The McNair Scholars Program is a federal TRIO program funded at 151 institutions across the United States and Puerto Rico by the U.S. Department of Education. It is designed to prepare undergraduate students for doctoral studies through involvement in research and other scholarly activities. The goal of the McNair Scholars Program is to increase graduate degree awards for students from underrepresented segments of society.

The College of Communication and Information (CCI) celebrates CCI Diversity Week every spring semester to promote the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion in our community. CCI Diversity initiatives advocate for and provide diverse support (EMBRACE), education (EDUCATE), and resources (EMPOWER) to the students, faculty, and staff in CCI.
The following list is just a small sample of the many scholarship opportunities available at Kent State University, in the College of Communication and Information, and through outside organizations. Our students with diverse identities and backgrounds are highly encouraged to apply for all scholarships available to them. This list only highlights the university and outside scholarships that were created specifically to assist our diverse students.
