Kent State's Institute for Excellence is a membership-driven leadership development program. Eligible faculty and staff first become members by completing the program. However, leadership development does not end with completion of the program. To continue to grow and develop as a leader, members must continue to educate themselves on their chosen field of leadership and expertise.

Kent State University employees can experience fun by day and fright by night at Cedar Point’s 20th anniversary HalloWeekends, held Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, Sept. 16 through Oct. 30.
The Great Pumpkin Fest will showcase craft zones, trick or treats, hay bale mazes, a parade and much more. After sundown, Cedar Point features six haunted houses, six scare zones and new skeleton key rooms.
Kent State University’s holiday shutdown for 2016 will begin Friday, Dec. 23, 2016. In addition, the university will close Monday, Dec. 26, 2016, through Monday, Jan. 2, 2017. All offices will re-open on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017.
The semi-monthly and bi-weekly pays will both occur on Dec. 22, 2016. The January 2017 pays will occur on the following dates:
On July 20 from 3-6 p.m., certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians from the Portage County Health Department will conduct child car seat inspections at the Kent State Child Development Center, which is located at 775 Loop Road in Kent.
Four out of five car seats are installed incorrectly. Make sure your child's car seat is correctly installed.
Office 365/Exchange accounts will be deleted for all employees who leave the university. Email will be converted to a kent.edu Gmail account if the employee will be an alumnus or enrolled student after employment ends. Users who are not alumni or currently enrolled students will have email access removed; however, they will retain access to their FlashLine accounts for HR records purposes.
If you are a faculty member who is retiring but returning to the university, you should contact your department for assistance with email access.
The Division of Human Resources sets a minimum goal of two hours of Beyond Compliance training for all faculty and staff to complete each fiscal year. Beyond Compliance training provides a mix of learning opportunities that are geared toward relevant laws, university policies and violence prevention.
