The world-renown Limón Dance Company will hold a summer worshhop at Kent State University's School of Theatre and Dance this summer. 

The three-week long intensive for intermediate and advanced level dancers offers training in the Humphrey/Limón movement tradition and includes:

Kent, OH – The School of Theatre and Dance at Kent State University continues it 2015-2016 season with the Tony Award-winning musical “Thoroughly Modern Millie.” The production runs Fri., Feb. 26 through Sun., March 6 in E. Turner Stump Theatre, located in the Center for the Performing Arts, 1325 Theatre Drive, Kent, OH 44242.

In February 2016, the School of Theatre and Dance is hosting auditions for several summer dance intensive programs.

Kent, OH – Local theatre critics recently honored Porthouse Theatre, Kent State University’s summer professional theatre, for achievements during the theatre’s 2015 season. The theatre’s 2015 productions were recognized in multiple categories including acting, directing, musical direction, choreography, and costume and scenic design.

Spend your summer at Porthouse! Every year, Porthouse Theatre welcomes dozens of professional and student designers, technicians, and staff, who along with actors and musicians, comprise the Porthouse Theatre company. 

Kent, OH – Kent State University’s School of Theatre and Dance, in partnership with The Musical Theater Project, will present a concert performance of “Zorba!” Dec. 5 at 2 p.m. in E. Turner Stump Theatre, Center for the Performing Arts, 1325 Theatre Drive, Kent, OH 44242.  A second performance will take Dec. 9 at 7:30 p.m. at the Beck Center.

Kent, OH – Kent State University’s School of Theatre and Dance continues its 2015-2016 season with “Dance ’15: Moving Parts,” a concert of diverse premieres by dance faculty members, including a piece by new dance division coordinator Jeffrey Marc Rockland. “Dance ’15: Moving Parts” runs Dec. 4-6 in E. Turner Stump Theatre, Center for the Performing Arts, 1325 Theatre Drive, Kent, OH 44242.

They brought their passion and gift of music 2,500 miles from Colombia, South America to Kent State University.

Together, the four chamber music graduate students from the School of Music in Kent State’s College of the Arts, make up the Tierradentro String Quartet.

They are part of a growing number of international students on campus – now totaling 3,000 from more than 100 countries.

Cuyahoga Falls, OH - Porthouse Theatre, Kent State University’s outdoor, summer theatre located on the grounds of Blossom Music Center, will celebrate its 48th season with productions of “Sister Act,” “Ring of Fire,” and “Footloose.”
