Ankita Tendolkar, Graduate Assistant

Position:Ankita Tendolkar

I am the Graduate Assistant for the Women's Center. My role as a Graduate Assistant involves collaborating with campus and community partners to develop, facilitate, and implement programs focused on inclusivity, health, equality, gender, leadership, and advocacy. For example, Feminist Fridays, empowerment workshops, food pantry, career closet etc. I am particularly passionate about the Days for Girls project where we work with volunteers to make reusable menstrual kits for girls and women from developing countries so that they don't have to miss school. We hope to impact community engaged learning on campus and also transform the local/global community in the near future.

Experience:

In the past I have worked as a community health worker for a non-profit called Niramaya Health Foundation in Mumbai, India. I specifically worked on their Anemia Prevention and Control and Maternal and Child Care program. I also have experience working at a hospital as an intern in the Cardiology department. As an intern at the Women's Center I specifically worked on the health and well-being initiatives like Days for Girls, mammograms and yoga. This Summer I worked at Girls Inc. of Greater Atlanta as a Summer Programming Intern. Apart from executing programs, my work involved evaluation and assessment of the programs. I also acted as a mentor to the girls.
