Cassie Pegg-Kirby, currently serves as the Director of the Women's Center. In her role, she provides leadership for the Women's Center and directs the development and delivery of programming, services and advocacy for female students, staff and faculty. Originally from Erie, PA, earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Women’s Studies from Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania. She also has her Master’s degree in Higher Education from Kent State University.
Her background includes working and volunteering at shelters for domestic violence and sexual assault in both Pennsylvania and Ohio. She also spent some time in college working at a group home for adolescent girls. Her professional experience in higher education includes admissions, academic advising, serving as a university police dispatcher in addition to her current role with the Women’s Center. She resides in Kent and been a member of the Kent State University community for over 15 years.
She believes the learning process is never complete and that it is important to always continue to question your own attitudes and beliefs. As soon as we stop asking the questions, we stop learning and growing.
