As we look to the future, the College of Communication and Information is focused on key priorities that will better position our students, faculty and staff for continued success:
- Global Competitiveness – We are committed to creating culturally competent citizens and professionals. By participating in a study away or study abroad program, students expand their worldview and enhance their skillset. Whether it’s a two-week experience or a full semester, we encourage our students to learn beyond their conventional boundaries. Scholarships will help fund student study away experiences and enhance transferable skills desired by employers.
- Scholarships — We believe all students, regardless of background, should have access to higher education. Our students have the desire to learn and the drive to be successful, but many need scholarships to earn their degrees. Our college, and many of our individual schools, offers scholarships that aid students throughout their collegiate careers.
- First Passport – While the benefits of studying abroad are immeasurable, we realize the process can be daunting. Roughly 50 percent of students do not have passports when they first arrive on campus. Through our first passport program, we reimburse students for getting their passport, showing them that we are invested in their global education and success. More than 120 passports have been awarded to students since 2017.
- Student Media – We offer our students the opportunity to immerse themselves in their industry through student media outlets, including magazines, television, newspaper, radio, film and more. These outlets attract students from all the schools within CCI, replicating a real-life work environment and producing award-winning work for students’ portfolios.
