Rising Scholars – Kent State University's Rising Scholars program (formerly known as the Rural Scholars program) offers first-generation college-bound students from Columbiana County and neighboring areas a college access program. This program is designed to give students and their families the knowledge, rigorous academic exposure and social support they will need to be successful at a world-class university. Contributions to this program help with costs related to workshops, transportation and scholarships to Kent State University.
Student Scholar Support – Scholarship support helps attract and retain students and acknowledges academic achievement by students. Scholarships also provide assistance to students who face economic hardships. Gifts can be placed into an existing scholarship fund or can be used to create a new fund.
Infrastructure Support – To properly prepare our students for future careers, we must keep our classrooms, labs, learning centers and supporting technology current. Our instructional spaces must continuously evolve to include designs and technical advances that reflect the workplaces our students will enter after graduation.
High Impact Practices – When students are engaged in research or projects outside of the classrooms, they take their college experience to a higher level of learning. Gifts to this fund will help support undergraduate research, internship and work study opportunities, campus-wide mentoring, cultural diversity experiences and other off-campus educational opportunities.
