Holocaust Remembrance Day 2014

Kent State University at East Liverpool recently held a community discussion on the Holocaust in keeping with the national Holocaust Remembrance Day. Faculty, staff, students and community members gathered to hear this year’s speaker Mark Weber present “Remembering the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising” to educate attendees on the ugly truths surrounding the Holocaust.

The Warsaw Ghetto Uprising was the single largest revolt by Jews during World War II. Weber gave a detailed account of the events leading up to the uprising and explained the importance of Holocaust awareness. Weber believes that sharing this type of knowledge empowers society to never let such a colossal tragedy happen again.
