Teresa Black

Teresa BlackFirst-year nursing student Teresa Black grew up in Lisbon and attended David Anderson Jr./Sr. High School.

While still in high school and trying to decide on a career path, nursing was what appealed to her most. “I originally wanted to become a nurse because I love helping people and making someone’s day a little brighter,” Black said.

She related that, during her senior year, her aunt had a baby and allowed her to attend birthing classes and follow the entire pregnancy. “The nurses through this whole process were amazing and they inspired to want to become a nurse,” Black said. “The longer I am in nursing school, the more I am making the connections between the classroom and the patient. I cannot wait to start my journey as a nurse once I finally graduate.”
