Fork in the Road Food Truck Assisting in School District Meal Distributions
University Dining Services has loaned the Fork in the Road food truck to local school districts to assist in the distribution of meals to children in Kent and surrounding areas.
Beginning in May, Kent City Schools, Elyria City Schools, and Lorain City Schools will be utilizing the Fork in the Road food truck to transport meals to children in need of food services while schools are closed. The goal is to reach children in these areas who may not have the transportation means to get to designated meal pick up sites set up by the districts.
The food truck will transport meals Monday through Friday in the school districts throughout spring and summer months so that parents of students can grab these meal in a safe and quick manner. University Dining Service employees have also volunteered to assist in distributing the meals in these school districts to help support this program.
More information about this food service transportation program can be found on the school districts' respective websites.
