The Limits of Disability Rights and the U.S. Constitution: Why the Americans with Disabilities Act was necessary and what’s next?
Kent State’s 2026 Constitution Day Celebration, hosted by University Libraries, will feature an address by disability rights attorney Katie Hunt Thomas of the Ability Center of Greater Toledo. Hunt will discuss how the disability rights movement contributed to the passing of the Americans with Disabilities Act and how we should respond to recent legal actions that threaten those protections. Following the address, a panel of Kent State students will join Hunt in responding to topic-related questions.
