Flashes First Friday

All students are welcomed to this event in downtown Kent where participants can get to know the area and the shops/services available to them as members of the Kent community. Also, come for exclusive giveaways courtesy of Athletics, raffle prizes, food, and music!

Will have an incentive bingo activity on hand for students to participate in that will have them explore the different businesses downtown in order to possibly win raffle prizes and a free event t-shirt upon completion. This event will take place starting at E. Erie Street between 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Friday August 21, 2026. 

This event is open to all students. For first-year students enrolled in Flashes 101, after your first class session on Friday, August 21 ends, your class facilitator, a student Peer Success Mentor, will lead you and your peers to downtown Kent for this event.

Flashes First Friday is the place to be on this day during KSU Kickoff. This is the most unique welcome back event our campus offers. Flashes First Friday opens the Kent community up for all to enjoy and appreciate. Your life chapter as a Golden Flash and member of the Kent community starts with Flashes First Friday!
