Los Angeles is a global design epicenter with an exciting fashion industry. This Study Tour program gives you a valuable opportunity to immerse yourself in the heart of the West Coast fashion world.
During your time here, you’ll learn more about the fashion design and production process from initial concept to final product. You’ll tour fashion design studios, visit fashion production facilities and sustainable fashion companies, and get to explore museums, galleries and cutting-edge architectural projects.
What’s more, you’ll meet with leading fashion designers, principles of creative agencies, internship coordinators and studio owners. The Los Angeles Study Tour program will let you find out more about contemporary design practice and show you how design innovation can be a creative, cultural force.
PROGRAM DATES
Summer 2024: May 28 - June 15
We split everyone enrolled in this program into two groups, so you get a more hands-on learning experience while you’re in Los Angeles.
- Week 1: Coursework at Kent State University for both Groups #1 and #2
- Week 2: Group #1 on location in LA
- Week 3: Group #2 on location in LA
Remote class both groups (Group 1 and Group 2) meet together May 28-31 from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.

- June 2 (fly to LA) - travel day
- June 3-7 - LA Study Tour Days
- June 8 (leave LA) - travel day
- Group #2
- June 9 (fly to LA) - travel day
- June 10-14 - LA Study Tour Days
- June 15 (leave LA) - travel day
It's important that students travel on the designated travel days, so they don't miss any of the LA Study Away content in LA.
