Filippo Caprioglio  

Filippo Caprioglio received his degree in Architecture at IUAV (Istituto Universitario di Architettura di Venezia) in Venice, Italy, with the thesis: "The Museum of the City in Mestre" in 1997. He received his Master's Degree in Architecture from Syracuse University, Florence program in 2001. Between 2002 and 2005 he taught design studio for the same university, in Syracuse, NY and Florence, Italy. He has been teaching at Kent State University in Florence since 2008. He has been invited to juries at several universities, such as IUAV in Venice, the School of Architecture in Ferrara, University of Trieste, University of Colorado, Kent State University, and University of Maryland. In Fall 2008 he was nominated Kea Distinguished Professor by the University of Maryland School of Architecture. He is partner at the firm “Caprioglio Associati.” Their most recent projects include: new residential buildings, renovation and new concept stores, urban planning, and private houses. Besides a passion for architecture, Filippo is also a talented industrial designer; he designed lamps, chairs and everyday objects for Italian and foreign companies. He wrote articles focused on his personal research in architecture and his projects have been published on books and magazines such The New York Times, Dwell, l’Arca, Domus, Spazio Casa, Design Diffusion, Progettare, I quaderni di Spazio e Società, Design Arredo and others.
