New Virtual Offerings
New Virtual Offerings from OGE
While travel between international partners is paused for the fall semester due to COVID-19, the Office of Global Education (OGE) is finding creative ways to provide students with meaningful opportunities to engage in and benefit from global education.
One example of these efforts is a new virtual exchange program. Through this program, Kent State University students will partner with students from institutions around the world for language development opportunities. Students at the partner institution will work on their English, while KSU students will have the chance to practice the native language of that host partner.
OGE is also developing a moderated dialogue program that will bring together KSU students and partner students to discuss relevant and timely topics in international affairs. These programs will be facilitated by KSU faculty and staff.
The American Academy program with OGE’s Brazilian partner, the Pontifical Catholic University of Parana (PUCPR), offered a free Portuguese Language course in which 16 KSU students, faculty, staff and alumni participated. The American Academy will continue in the fall with remote instruction from KSU faculty members. Plans are underway for even more virtual offerings for students, faculty, staff and alumni to engage in global education opportunities. More information will be available soon, so keep an eye on your inbox for emails from OGE.
