Lawrence Carter

Lawrence Carter currently serves as Asset Manager for the Kent State University Hotel and Conference Center, and Part-Time Faculty for the KSU Hospitality Event Management program.  Lawrence cultivates the hotel’s philanthropic and educational mission to KSU, serving as primary liaison among university leadership, Foundation stakeholders, municipal partners, and hotel management to ensure coordinated operational and community outcomes.

Lawrence began working for Kent State in January 2013, and holds a MS, Hospitality and Tourism Management as well as a College Teaching Certificate from Kent State University, and a BA, Hospitality, Institution and Restaurant Management from Michigan State University.

Prior to working at Kent State, Lawrence attained 34+ years of hospitality leadership experience spanning hotel operational and asset management, event operations, entrepreneurial business ownership, and academic instruction.
