Haleigh Ketler

Graduate Assistant

Haleigh Ketler (she/they) is an alum of Kent State University, having graduated in May 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in English Literature. They are currently a first-year graduate student studying English with a concentration in Criticism and Theory. It likely comes as no surprise that reading is a favorite pastime for an English major, however, Haleigh believes that books allow for an emotional transaction between the readers, characters and authors that can make the world a less harmful place. During their time here at Kent State, Haleigh hopes to use literature as a way to target Queer inequalities and push towards equity and accessibility.

When Haleigh is not working or studying, you can likely find them on the rugby pitch. From 2018-2022, Haleigh has been involved with the Kent State Women’s Rugby Club as both a player and an assistant coach. She is currently a player on the Akron Women’s team. Other interests include reading, hiking, going to the movies, playing board games and spending time with their partner and two cats, Benny and Floyd. Haleigh is looking forward to the school year and is excited for the opportunity to grow within the LGBTQ+ Center!
