LGBTQ+ History Month
About LGBTQ+ History Month (October)
LGBTQ+ History Month is a dedicated month to reflect on the often-overlooked contributions of LGBTQ+ individuals in United States history. It is a celebration of LGBTQ+ individual contributions to history, culture and society and has been observed annually in the Month of October in the United States since 1994, to coincide with 10/11 National Coming OUT Day. While we honor those pioneers who paved the way, we also celebrate and acknowledge the history being made today as we look forward to a more equitable future for all.
