The Kent State LGBTQ+ Center supports an inclusive environment on all KSU campuses, advocates for all individuals and campus and community groups based on sexual and gender identity, maintains organizational capacity so that the work of the Center is efficient and effective, and builds community and a sense of belonging to support an inclusive environment. 

The center is a welcoming environment to LGBTQ students and their allies. The informed staff strives to educate the campus community about sexual orientation and gender identity to ensure Kent State University remains a safe space for all students.

Come listen to a virtual panel of parents, students, and professionals discuss their experiences surrounding topics of coming out. Featuring Emmet Drugan (MEd, LPC, CDCA, NCC, Phoenix Counseling Center, KSU Alumni 2020) and Sandy Varndell (LSW, Founder and President of OutSupport, Inc, KSU Alumni 1984).

April 16th, 2024 at 5:30-7pm. Registration is required.

HOLD THE DATE - Lavender Graduation will be held on Thursday, May 2nd 2024, 6-8:30pm (with an Alumni Reception from 5-6pm).

Are you an LGBTQ+ student who is graduating in the spring, summer, or fall 2024 semesters? We hope you’ll join us for Lavender Graduation, a university sponsored pre-commencement event that celebrates the accomplishments of LGBTQ+ students, as well as faculty/staff and community members during the awards portion of the event.  All are welcomed to this no-cost dinner event, but registration is required. Registration closes on April 15th at midnight!
