Employee Wellness

Gaining Resiliency, Optimism and Confidence

The session will be livestreamed; all-employee; all-campus access

This lunch-and-learn opportunity will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 7, from noon to 1 p.m. Employees may participate on the Kent Campus in 107 Heer Hall or via livestream to any location with internet access.

Our presenter will be Thomas O'Reilly, M.S., PCC, from Impact Solutions. Mr. O'Reilly will examine the human traits of resiliency, optimism and confidence. He will discuss and explore what promotes or erodes these traits in a person's life, and how to gain new skills to develop resiliency, optimism and confidence during tough times.

Registration is required whether participating in-person or via livestreaming. Please follow the following links for registration:

All employees are welcome to participate. For full-time, benefits-eligible employees participating in the Wellness Your Way employee incentive program, this session is worth 10 Tier Two wellness reward points for 2018.

Final On-site Health Screenings at Heer Hall on the Kent Campus

As part of the Wellness Your Way employee incentive program, all full-time, benefits-eligible employees are invited to attend an onsite health screening (you do not have to be covered by the university-sponsored health plan to take advantage of this onsite service).

Screenings conducted between September 2017 and April 30, 2018, will go toward the employee Tier One requirements for 2018. Once all requirements are complete for Tier One, eligible employees will receive their $150 wellness award. The deadline for completing Tier One is April 30, 2018.

If you have not already scheduled an on-site health screening, note that sessions fill up quickly. You must register in advance for your appointment on the Be Well Portal at portal.bewelldata.com. Remaining dates are as follows:

  • Jan. 31 from 10 p.m.-midnight (geared toward 3rd shift)
  • Feb. 21 from 3-5 p.m. (geared toward 2nd shift)
  • Feb. 8 from 7:30-10:30 a.m.
  • Feb. 13 from 6-8 a.m.
  • Feb. 22 from 7:30-10:30 a.m.

Find instructions for setting up your Be Well appointment. Employees who have completed a health screening on or after Sept. 1, 2017, do not have to complete another one for 2018. Also, if you prefer to have your health screening done in your physician's office, simply print the Physician Screening Form from the Be Well website at portal.bewelldata.com, have your physician complete the form, and send the results directly to Be Well at the address shown on the form by April 30.

If you have questions or need assistance, please feel free to contact the Employee Wellness office at 330-672-0392 or wellness@kent.edu.
