The School of Communication Studies will Hold an Orientation and Social for all International Students

Kent State University School of Communication Studies will host an orientation and social for all new and current international students enrolled in the College of Communication and Information (CCI).

The free event will take place on Friday, Sept. 23 from 2-4 p.m. in room 202 of the Art Building. Refreshments will be served to the students attending.

Students attending will be able to meet other new and current international students within CCI. Students will also have the opportunity to meet the dean of the college, Amy Reynolds, directors of the schools and academic advisors.

Miao Liu, the school’s international student advisor, will speak at the event to students about important information such as how to be successful in the classroom and laws students should know.

“We want our international students to feel welcomed here at Kent State and within the College of Communication and Information,” Liu said. “This event is for the students to meet more students like themselves to feel more comfortable around the campus.”

The orientation is open to all current international students within CCI, but is mandatory for all new international students in the college.

CCI ambassadors, domestic students and students who went on the Sichuan University UIP summer program are also invited to this event.

“We hope this social event will greatly benefit the international students and impact their experience at Kent State in a positive way,” Liu said.
