What's it like to study in South Korea?

South Korea is quickly becoming an important global fashion hub. You’ll study at Dankook University, which is just an hour from the capital city Seoul and get the chance to explore one of the world’s most technologically advanced cities. In your downtime, you’ll get to immerse yourself into Korean culture and see the world from a whole new perspective. You’ll have fun, but also learn new skills that will make valuable additions to your resume. During your time in South Korea, you’ll have the chance to:
- Try calligraphy
- Learn more about traditional Korean music and dance
- Make kimchi
- Take an authentic Taekwondo class
- Stay at a temple
- Visit a mud festival
- Spend time in a folk village
- Visit a Korean company
Through the Dankook University, students complete major elective courses just an hour from the capital city, Seoul, which has emerged as a global fashion hub. In addition to completing courses focused on entrepreneurship, branding and design process, students are immersed into Korean culture through a range of activities; including, trying calligraphy, making kimchi, experiencing Korean traditional music and dances, and visits to Korean temples, businesses, and the Korean Folk Village.
Students can also participate in a Global Village program, which is a unique three-week peer-to-peer teaching program. Students teach English conversation classes to small groups of Dankook University students, before continuing to the academic program.
Housing
Students will live in a fully-furnished double occupancy room at the on-campus dormitory, Woobing Hall. Each room is furnished with 2 single beds, bedding, desks, chairs, wardrobes, a telephone, internet connection, and a private bathroom. A variety of facilities are also available for students' convenience such as a coin-operated laundry room, restaurant, fitness center, convenience store, and more.
Meal plans are not offered at Dankook, but students will find a variety of cafeterias, food courts, coffee shops, bakeries, and vending machines to suit every palate.
Travel
OGE will help students determine travel dates and offer group travel options if they are available.
