Student project

Kent State’s High School Discovery Program is an intensive five-day workshop for rising high school juniors and seniors to be introduced to architectural design in a studio setting using project-based learning to develop skills, awareness, and critical thinking to understand designers’ roles and agency in the environment and our communities. Students will be introduced to architectural software such as Rhino and Photoshop, using them to produce architectural concepts exploring the connections between architecture and digital microcommunities. Students will also be immersed within a studio environment, producing their work for a final review with guest critics and toward the creation of a portfolio for design school applications.

Join us for an overnight summer camp at the renowned The John Elliot Center for Architecture and Environmental Design at Kent State University’s campus in Kent, OH. Learn and gain knowledgeable hands-on experience from a R1 school at the forefront of research and innovation.

*This program is only open to Firestone High School, and Design and Architecture Senior High (DASH) students.
