The Listening Eye 2022-2023 Issue (complete)
The Ph.D. Preliminary Examination is in place to assess a student’s understanding of the basic prerequisite concepts for entrance into the Doctoral program in Computer Science. It is also in place to assure that all incoming Ph.D. students have the ability to effectively reason with and integrate the underlying knowledge and concepts in the broad field of Computer Science. This ability is necessary to continue the student’s studies in the degree program. The goals of the Ph.D. Preliminary Examination:
The musical adaptation of Alice Walker’s award-winning novel “The Color Purple,” which is slated for national release on Dec. 25, is already making headlines with glowing reviews. The film, featuring performers such as Taraji P. Henson, Danielle Brooks, Colman Domingo and former “American Idol” winner Fantasia Barrino, was directed by Kent State University graduate Samuel “Blitz” Bazawule. In a review of the film, Mark Meszoros of The News-Herald raved about Bazawule’s interpretation of the novel, stating the film delivered “enthralling scene after enthralling scene.” Meszoros ...
