Magaly Rios was born in Guanajuato, Mexico. She was 11 years old when she and her family moved to Chardon, Ohio, and she became a United States Citizen in 2016. Throughout her adolescent years, Magaly spent the majority of her time learning the English language and culture. Jazz Studies faculty member Chris Coles' "Nine Lives Project" was recently accepted as the subject of a roundtable discussion for a virtual conference in Dublin, Ireland. The discussion, hosted by Chris Coles, fellow Jazz Studies faculty member Theron Brown, and other collaborators, will center on the work as a means of protest, self-reflection and action.

Engineering Technology Students and Instructor Unveil Their Electric-Powered ATV

Kent State University at Tuscarawas engineering technology students collaborated on their capstone project during the spring semester and unveiled an electric powered ATV on finals night this week. A class of five students from electrical/electronics engineering technology and mechanical engineering technology participated in the process from the ground up – taking a gas-powered vehicle and converting it to one that runs on electric power.
