Kent State University’s College of Public Health was awarded a $357,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services through its Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration to fund Project AWARE Kent, a three-year Mental Health First Aid program. East Liverpool – Kent State University at East Liverpool received a gift of $25,000 from the family of the late Dr. Roxanne Burns to establish an endowed scholarship. Burns was a longtime biology professor on the East Liverpool Campus who helped organize several activities on campus, including the annual Environmental Justice Conference, and was active with numerous student organizations.  The Dr. Roxanne Burns Endowed Scholarship was created through a monetary gift from Emily Burns, daughter of the late professor. WKYC TV featured Flock for a story on the growing interest in drones and Kent State’s minor in unmanned aircraft systems.
