CHISHOLM/CHERRY—A local couple is traveling to New York City where they are set to perform music as part of an ensemble in one of the oldest parades in the nation. Winter Coat and Clothing Drive

From Nov. 13 through Dec. 15, Kent State will be collecting clean, gently used or new items for all ages including warm clothing, hats, gloves, scarves, and sweaters. Winter coat and clothing donations will go to the Winter Warm Up Stations at the Women's Center in the Williamson House, the CARES Center in the Student Center room 106; and the Phyllis Zumkehr Portage County Clothing Center, which provides items to homeless individuals, families, elderly, and veterans in need free of charge.

OTA and PTA students recently donated $750 to Focus Hippotherapy.

Kent State East Liverpool students from the Occupational Therapy Assistant and the Physical Therapist Assistant programs combined their fundraising efforts to make a monetary donation to Focus Hippotherapy, an outdoor equestrian facility in Berlin Center that treats individuals with a variety of diagnoses. The students presented a check to Dawn Speece, owner and executive director of the facility who founded the program in 1993. Kent State University at Trumbull's Digital Media Production Center, in partnership with Kent State Trumbull Theatre, Hounding Productions LLC, and Trumbull Satellite (a student-run digital magazine), is looking for local students interested who are interested in film to submit entries for its Student Short Film Festival.  Northeast Ohio students from pre-school to college are invited to submit 15-second to 12-minute videos appropriate for a general audience.
