Schedule Placement Testing and/or New Student Orientation dates (if applicable)
Placement testing and New Student Orientation must be completed for all New Freshmen prior to meeting with an academic advisor to schedule classes.
Be on the lookout for our yellow New Student Orientation envelope for your specific instructions! Registration will begin in April (Fall semester) and October (Spring semester). Visit our New Student Orientation page to register for a date that works best for you.

Review Your Student Checklist
Your Student Checklist will identify items you need to complete like placement testing and applying for financial aid. Follow the instructions listed in your Student Checklist in FlashLine.
Apply for Financial Aid
If you haven’t done so already, submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The school code for Kent State University at Ashtabula is 003052.
Sign In To FlashLine
You will find important information in our student portal, FlashLine. You can access FlashLine from any Kent State website by clicking on the lightning bolt icon in the top navigation bar. To login for the first time, select First time user? Start here.
Once you're logged into FlashLine, you can view your Student Checklist from the My Lists button in the top navigation bar.
Log in to your FlashLine account
Now that you're a Kent State student, you will have access to all things Kent State in our student portal, FlashLine. You can access this portal from any Kent State website by clicking on the FlashLine lightning bolt icon at the top right of the page.
