Porthouse Seeks Submissions for Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash

Production originates at CATCO in Columbus and moves to Porthouse

Casting Notice: Porthouse Theatre is seeking submissions for Ring of Fire, the Johnny Cash Musical.  Porthouse Theatre is co-producing this show with the Contemporary American Theatre Company, (CATCO), which is located in Columbus, Ohio.  The production will originate at CATCO under the direction of Steven Anderson and then move to Porthouse Theatre is July.

Roles Available:

  • 1 male who plays lead guitar and sings
  • 1 male who plays fiddle and acoustic guitar (rhythm) and sings
  • 1 male who plays upright bass and sings

Musicians able to double on various other instruments, specifically Banjo and Mandolin, will be given highest consideration.

Rehearsals will begin on May 6 in Columbus.  Rehearsals will run Tuesdays-Sundays, with Monday off, for a total of 28 hours per week.  The show opens June 3 and closes June 26. 

The show moves to Porthouse Theatre on July 5 and rehearses through July 7 with a preview on July 7.   Opening July 8.  The show plays Tuesday through Saturday at 8:00 PM with Sunday matinees at 2:00 PM.  The show closes July 23.

Actor/musicians will be expected to provide their own instruments.  Housing will be provided for out of town performers at both CATCO and Porthouse Theatre.  Salary is $350.00 per week.
