Celebración de los Graduados

This pre-commencement celebration and final Rites of Passage is graduation ceremony to celebrate the accomplishments of all graduating African American, Native American, Latinx, Hispanic and Multiracial undergraduate and graduate students. A senior speaker will provide remarks before students are recognized and bestowed with a cultural stole by a faculty member in their respective college. 


Fall 2021

We will NOT host a Karamu Ya Wahitimu/Celebracion de los Graduados ceremony in for Fall 2021. All African American, Latinx/Native American, and Multiracial students graduating in fall 2021 who would like a cultural graduation stole will need to request one via email (STUDENT_MULTICULTURAL_CENTER@kent.edu) before December 15. We are inviting all graduates from Fall 2021 to come back to participate in spring 2022 Karamu Celebration. Please see information below. 

Spring 2022 Karamu Celebration 

Tentatively, the Student Multicultural Center will host an in-person celebration in May 2022. We are inviting all Fall 2021, Spring 2022, and Summer 2022 graduates to participate. If you are interested in participating please complete this registration form.
