Karamu Ya Wahitimu (Kiswahili for Celebration for the Graduates), a pre-commencement ceremony for graduating African, African American, Native American and Latino students. Karamu Ya Wahitimu is a festive and cultural occasion for family, friends, faculty, staff and colleagues to celebrate your academic achievements.

During the ceremony, you will participate in a processional with faculty and other graduates. Also, you will be individually acknowledged by a designated representative from your respective college. The Karamu Ya Wahitimu will be held Friday April 24 at 6:30 p.m., at Cartwright Hall. A reception will immediately follow the ceremony.
