Social and Cultural Programming Fund

SOCIAL AND CULTURAL PROGRAMMING FUND 

The use of the funds will support programming to enhance the experience of students who are underrepresented (students of color) and underserved students who are typically first-generation, LGBTQ+, deaf/hearing-impaired students, autism spectrum students, and/or differently able students. You must be a registered student organization through the Center for Student Involvement to request use of these funds. Organizations may apply for up to $5,000 annually on a first come, first served basis. Funds may not be used for travel; rather on-campus events, or for payments requiring contracts (i.e. speakers, performers, DJ, etc). Funds cannot be applied to past due balances. All applications must be submitted six (6) weeks prior to the program. 

Application Process

  • Log into  KSU Engage  with your FLASHline credentials and submit.  

  • Navigate to your student organization page.  

  • Click on your organization’s icon on the left side of the page along the ‘tool bar’.  

  • This will pull up a drop-down menu, click on the ‘Finance’ Tab.  

  • Click on the blue box title 'Create Request’.  

  • Click 'Create Budget Request’.  

  • Select Social and Cultural Programming Fund.  

  • Fill out the application in its entirety and submit.  

Funding Proposal

The proposal should contain detailed information regarding the event for which you are requesting funds. For EACH event for which you are requesting funding, complete the following: 

  • Event Description: Describe all aspects of your event. Reminder to tie it back to the mission and values of your organization which must be clearly stated. Who is your target audience? 

  • Event Goals & Commitment to Social & Cultural Diversity: What are the specific goals of the event? How does this event support, educate about, and/or celebrate social and cultural diversity? 

  • Advertising Plan: How do you plan to advertise your event?  

  • Funding: Why should this event be funded? How will this event contribute to the life of the university community?
