Beginning July 1, Kent State University will become smoke-free and tobacco-free, in accordance with university policy 5-21. The new policy aligns with the university’s healthy campus initiative, Kent State of Wellness.

In order to perform necessary maintenance on the boilers, steam transmission systems and electrical distribution systems, Kent State University’s Power Plant will shut down from Sunday, May 14,at 6 p.m. until Sunday, May 21, at 6 p.m.
During the steam shutdown, most buildings located on campus will not have air conditioning and/or heat or hot water to sinks and showers.
