marketing internship

Kara Taylor, a senior applied communication major, is interning with the School of Visual Communication Design this spring. As one of their marketing interns, Taylor is responsible for covering VCD events and writing content for the school’s social media platforms, alumni magazine and alumni website.

“I get to do a wide-range of things at work,” Taylor said. “I really enjoy working in the Art Building, too. It’s a great atmosphere to be in.”

Senior applied communication major, Jowan Cole landed an exciting position with Brandmuscle, a marketing software company. As their client service operations intern, Cole’s responsibilities include acting as a support personnel to account executives and helping in the production of local marketing content for the company’s clients. Cole says he enjoys the work he does along with the company’s environment.

“I love the company culture. It’s exciting to be able to be myself at work,” Cole said.

A School of Communication Studies student interns with the Office of Experiential Education and Civic Engagement (OEECE) at Kent State University.

Amanda Bevington, a senior interpersonal communication major, is a student intern for the OEECE this spring. During her internship so far, Bevington has been working on various projects, such as recruitment for alternative spring break trips and Super Service Saturdays, developing the first ever global service trip to Nicaragua, and OEECE’s social media.

Melissa Fox, a senior public communication major with a marketing minor, wasted no time hitting the streets of campus trying to get students pumped up about Kent State Athletics as part of her internship with the Kent State Athletic Marketing Department.


Fox’s high-energy, hands-on personality made her a perfect match to join the Kent Flash Force Promotional Street Team as one of the many things she does for her internship.
