Each year on Oct. 1, universities nationwide are required to disseminate a summary of reported crimes on or near campus. The Annual Security Reports for all Kent State University campuses outline three-year statistics on several different crimes from motor vehicle theft and weapons violations to drug violations and sexual assault.

Kent State receives $450,000 in grants to help prevent sexual harassment and assault, relationship violence and stalking.

On Sunday, Feb. 7, Kent City Police responded to a report of a man who had been shot inside an off-campus apartment at 1632 E. Main St. in the city of Kent. Upon officers’ arrival, an 18-year-old Kent State University student was found deceased. One suspect was apprehended with the assistance of Stow Police.
