Women of Color Initiatives

The Women of Color Collective (WoCC) was created to provide a supportive space for women of color faculty and staff at Kent State University. Through professional development, supportive networking, emotional support and community-building, WoCC seeks to advance the needs of women of color and thereby enrich their professional journeys at Kent State University. This working group will serve as the executive board for the WoCC.

Goals

  • Develop the infrastructure and by-laws for the WoCC.

  • Develop the calendar for the group. Will contain social and professional development opportunities for women of color at Kent State University.

  • Support and participate in initiatives that serve undergraduate and graduate women students of color, e.g., Where Do Black Women Go?

Meetings: TBA. Working Group will meet 2-3 times a semester, WoCC will meet monthly
