Glauser School of Music

On Saturday, Dec. 4 the Kent State University Orchestra hosted the final round of the Glauser School of Music Concerto Competition. An annual event, the competition is open to all undergraduate and graduate music students who won the preliminary round in their category. The winners will be featured on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022 during the KSU Orchestra concert at 3 p.m. that day.

Wendy Matthews, Kent State associate professor of music education and director of bands, is included in Routledge’s International Handbook of Music Psychology in Education and the Community.

"Infusing Creativity Into Your Next Ensemble Rehearsal" is a reprint of an article written for NAfME by Kent State faculty member Dr. Wendy K. Matthews, Ph.D. student BethAnn Hepburn and friend of the School of Music Dr. Elizabeth Hankins.

Amanda Bekeny recently joined Casidy Reed, the creator and host of the "Music HERstory Podcast," to chat about her equity, life and career, balancing an active teaching and performing career, and more. 

Joshua Albrecht, assistant professor of music theory in the Glauser School, recently appeared on WAMC's "The Academic Minute" as part of a weeklong feature on Kent State University's Brain Heath Research Institute.
